Tango Flamenco & Rumba Dance Workshops
Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays July 7-31, 2008

This 12-lesson series will focus on tango and rumba. Beginning/intermediate classes at 6 p.m. with Elena focus on tango, while intermedia/advanced classes at 7 p.m. with Teresa focus on rumba. Live musical accompaniment will be provided by Robin and Irene.

Tangos Workshop with Cihtli Ocampo & Ethan Margolis

Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 2-3
Dance with Sherry Studio 4140 Redwood Highway, 2nd floor, San Rafael
This workshop focuses on tangos -- for dancer, guitarists and singers alike. Students will learn how to marcar, rematar and llamar depending on what letra is being sung. Cihtli will give the steps, and Ethan will then explain where they go in the cante, giving each student a chance to use their knowledge.
The workshop consists of two 1-1/2 hour classes each day, for a total of 6 hours: On Saturday, Cihtli will teach from 2–3:30 p.m. and Ethan will teach from 3:30-5 p.m.; on Sunday, Cihtli will teach from 11–12:30 p.m. and Ethan will teach from 12:30-2 p.m. The workshop is best taken in full although classes may be taken individually.
